Timbre!! The Monster Caesar adventure

Some girlfriends and I went to the Joe Purdy concert a couple of weekends ago. First of all the concert was great, three hours of  indi “folk rock” by amazing artists at the Rio Theatre. I’ve provided  link to one of Purdy’s songs and you should listen to it as you read!

Before the show we stopped at Timbre Restaurant for some drinks and munchies. This place was so cute! Cozy dining area with a modern vibe, Timbre restaurant offered a bit of everything for everyone. The thing I loved most was the hanging plants, beautiful green vines hung above our heads from the light fixtures, although the big screen TVs showing the Canucks game was great too (GO CANUCKS GO!).

I opted for a liquid dinner and ordered the double caesar. THIS IS WHAT ARRIVED! It appeared on the bill as the ”Monster Caesar” and seriously it could have been a meal.

It came with two spicy beans, an olive, a prawn, one lemon and one lime. AMAZEBALLS! So delicious.

My friend ordered the baked brie and a side salad with mixed greens, blood beets, walnuts, and I wanna say goat cheese but I can’t remember exactly what the cheese was. Pricy for a side salad, you’d be wiser to get the meal version

The baked brie came with a cranberry jelly, herbed crostinis, grapes, and pears. Very delicious and beautifully presented.

I haven’t spent a lot of time on Commercial drive despite knowing it is home to some of the trendiest/eco-friendly and responsible shops and restaurants in the city.  I would definitely return to Timbre again, the menu looked really delicious.

I’d also love to give a shout out to Purdy’s opening band, the Milk Carton Kids, they are an amazing duo and you should go to their website and download their album!  Just a heads up, “Charlie” will make you cry, “California”, “Queen Jane”, and “Permanent” are other outstanding tracks.
